COVID-19

Hello,

It’s been a while! Gotham Wellness is finally open for acupuncture again! Although acupuncture practices were allowed to open a few months earlier, I did not want to be among the first to reopen, and preferred to take a wait and see approach. With virus infection rates in NYC among the lowest in the country for months now, I finally feel it is safe enough for me to re-open.

I will be following the CDC reopening guidelines. All paperwork and payments will now be online. Prior to your appointment, (if you are a returning client) you will complete a COVID-19 Consent to Treatment & a COVID-19 Pre-Screen Checklist form. If you have any of the symptoms listed in the Pre-Screen Checklist, if you have traveled in the past 2 weeks from anywhere NY state requires a 2 week quarantine, or if you have been exposed to anyone who has or is suspected of having COVID-19, please cancel your appointment, and the appointment cancelation fee will be waived. For new patients, your first appointment will be a virtual or phone intake consultation, followed by an in person acupuncture treatment scheduled for a later time.

Once you arrive for your appointment, you will have your temperature checked with a touchless thermometer and your blood oxygen levels will be measured. Please take off your shoes and head to the sink to wash your hands. I will be wearing a face mask and a face shield, a uniform, and booties that will be changed into each time I step out of the office.

For your safety, if you require body cupping, body gua sha, or a mylar blanket, you will be given your own single use one, which I will dispose of after your treatment. (You are welcome to keep yours and bring it back with you for follow up appointments if you prefer less waste). Thankfully, acupuncture needles have always been single use and disposable!

Gotham Wellness is a private acupuncture studio, and I treat only one person at a time. There will be 30-60 minutes between each client appointment, depending on appointment type, to allow for cleaning and airflow change over. I will be masked and wearing a face shield, and am fully vaccinated.

In the treatment room, the windows are open and equipped with four window fans to draw old air out of the room and to bring fresh air in. There are two HEPA air filters in the treatment room, as well one HEPA air filter in the waiting area. They will be running 24/7. I use a non toxic cleaning solution that is EPA approved for COVID-19. If you are pregnant, immunocompromised, over 65, or highly COVID conscious, I am happy to give you the first appointment time of the day.

Masks are required to be worn for the duration of your time in the office, except if or when necessary to be removed during treatment.
