What is an Aculectrics℠ facial treatment?
Aculectrics℠ is a non-invasive treatment that combines the best of ancient medicine with modern technology and therapeutic spa techniques to enhance health and beauty from the inside out. The initial appointment is 120 minutes and begins with a comprehensive Chinese medical, lifestyle, & skincare intake, and treatments are tailored to the individual.
What should I expect during the treatment?
The treatment starts with body acupuncture, to address the internal causes of aging and organ imbalances, which often appear on the face. Then, a six step facial, including a triple cleanse, a toner, a fruit acid peel, and serum application. A detailed facial microcurrent treatment follows, lifting, sculpting, and re-educating the muscles of the face, while providing Qi, in the form of electricity, to the skin and facial muscles, which stimulates the cells to create more ATP (cellular energy).
Next, facial acupuncture treats health imbalances, and has the added benefits of softening expression lines, reducing inflammation and fluid storage, increasing blood flow, and stimulating collagen growth and cell renewal. With needles in place, the client rests under an LED therapy light, providing Qi in the form of light energy, which reduces inflamation & stimulates the production of collagen, treating superficial wrinkles and sun damage. Once the needles are removed, a brief facial massage is performed with vitamin based moisturizer, followed by sunscreen application.
As the treatment is tailored to the individual, additional modalities & follow up treatments may include one or more of the following: manual lymphatic drainage (Dr. Vodder style), sonophoresis, iontophoresis, fascia manipulation of the neck and face, intra-oral release work (temporarily on hold due to COVID), facial cupping, and facial gua sha. This is determined at the time of the intake, allowing for a treatment protocol that will best serve the client.
Most people find the treatment incredibly relaxing and fall asleep on the table. Even those who have a fear of needles have been converted into acupuncture lovers, as the treatment uses some of the thinnest needles available.
